The Digby Wells Environmental London Dinner, has throughout the years, brought together various key decision makers in the mineral resources industry, across Africa, to discuss, network and share innovative, practical and sustainable environmental and social solutions.

Coinciding with the Mines and Money London Conference, Digby Wells Environmental hosted, the now, 9th Annual London Dinner at Fredericks restaurant, Islington.

Attended by various Industry leaders, the evening set the tone for the successful discussions around mining in terms of environmental and social sustainability. The Digby Wells Environmental team are attending the Mines and Money London Conference, and look forward to continuing on the evening discussions.

The EACOP Project Resettlement Action Plan

The East African Crude Oil Pipeline ( Project involves the construction and operation of an underground, cross border pipeline  to transport crude oil from the Lake Albert region in Uganda to a marine export terminal in Tanzania, near Tanga City Port This is one of the largest pipeline projects globally. 

  • Uganda 296 km long pipeline and traverses 10 districts and
  • Tanzania 1 147 km long pipeline and traverse 8 regions and 25 districts

Due to the magnitude of the project, Digby Wells joined with four 4 organizations to form the Digby Wells Consortium In July 2017 EACOP appointed the Digby Wells Consortium to undertake an independent RPF/RAP process on behalf of EACOP

The Exxaro Belfast project is geared toward benefiting its host community, creating roughly 6000 direct and indirect opportunities for employment during construction and throughout the Life of Mine, seeing almost 20 000 people benefiting.

Pivotal to the successful implementation of the Exxaro Belfast Project was the need to relocate some community homes and graves sites

Upon receiving Environmental Authorisation, Exxaro appointed Digby Wells to develop a Resettlement Action Plan and undertake a Burial Grounds and Graves Consultation Process.

To mark the opening of the 2019 International Mali Mining and Petroleum Conference & Exhibition/ Journées Minières et Pétrolières du Mali (JMP), set to take place in Bamako, Mali from the 12 – 14 November 2019, Digby Wells Environmental Mali hosted the second West African Client Networking function at the Centre International de Conference de Bamako – CICB.

Attended by various West African focused Mining Industry leaders, the evening set the tone for the successful discussions around mining in terms of environmental and social sustainability. Graham Trusler, CEO of Digby Wells Environmental, who has over 30 years’ experience in industryand Country Manager Mamadou Dembele, provided insight on how Digby Wells Environmental sees the Sustainability scene playing out in 2020.

Adding to the discussions, Barrick, Kodal Resources, Mali Lithium and Resolute Mining all of whom have worked with the in-country Digby Wells Environmental Mali team, partook in the discussions by providing invaluable positive feedback surrounding the various projects that the Digby Wells team have been involved in, and continue to be involved in, for each of their operations throughout the years.

Inspired by the company’s vision ‘To be the preferred partner offering Environmental and Social Services to the Resources Industry, the Digby Wells Environmental Mali team are attending the JMP Mali Conference, and look forward to continuing on the evening discussions.
